News : Sybase Highlights Open Source for Enterprise & Mobile Development at EclipseCon 2008

Sybase (NYSE:SY) today announced that it will showcase its continued commitment to Eclipse Open Source development for enterprise and mobile applications at EclipseCon 2008, at the Santa Clara Convention Center, Santa Clara, CA, March 17-20. At the event, Sybase(R) representatives will lead seven presentations focusing on topics ranging from the Eclipse Data Tools Platform to Creating Windows Mobile Database Applications. A Strategic Developer member of the Eclipse Organization, Sybase is dedicated to broadening the value of Eclipse to the software development community.

Data Applications in Eclipse: The Eclipse Data Tools Platform

Sybase's John Graham will join Loic Julien and Sheila Sholars of IBM, to co-present one of the opening tutorial sessions of the conference on developing data applications. The Eclipse Data Tools Platform (DTP) project provides a number of key exemplary end-user tools for working with data sources. Whether your task is working primarily on a database or to build an application using a database, DTP can help. The session will offer an overview of DTP and investigate data tooling. Implement Schema Editing Based on Delta DDL

Dafan Yang and Lin Song will present a tutorial to guide developers to build DDL and Delta DDL generators, hence to implement the database schema editors. DTP Help-Helper Plug-in
